Calgary Roadrunners' annual Silver Springs cross-country race sends runners across the hillsides, gullies, and snow-dusted trails on the north side of Bowmont Park. Pick the 8 km age-group race, the 4 km run, or a 0.5–1 km dash for kids 12 and under — expect mud, ice, and plenty of festive Santa hats and ugly Christmas sweaters. A post-race social with hot soup, rolls, and desserts to share follows at the Silver Springs Community Association. Online pre-registration is required.
