Join Sparrow Artspace for a meaningful workshop dedicated to Orange Shirt Awareness Day. This session offers a respectful space to learn a simple beaded edge technique on orange pellon, creating a personal beaded pin to honor the children who never returned from residential schools. Guided by Pearl White Quills of the Siksikaitsitapi (Blackfoot Confederacy), the workshop focuses on the spirit of reconciliation and the significance of the orange shirt as a symbol of resilience and remembrance. Pearl, founder of Bright Swan Creations, shares beadwork teachings rooted in Indigenous culture and spirituality. Open to ages 16+, this is an opportunity to connect with Indigenous teachings and affirm that Every Child Matters while creating a piece to wear on September 30.
