Sled Island 2026 opens with an ambient music ceremony at Central United Church, beginning with a special elder blessing at 5:30pm. New York-based ambient legend Laraaji — discovered by Brian Eno in 1979 — performs an evening of meditative zither and electro-acoustic improvisation, joined by sound artist Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe and local opener JJL.
