Led by Founders' Gallery Managing Curator Dick Averns, this illustrated program breaks down how a contemporary art exhibition comes together — from concept and scale modelling to positioning artworks, artefacts, and signage. Using the current David Garneau: Dark Chapters and Reading the Ruins shows as a case study, attendees then tour the gallery to see the curatorial design firsthand, including NWMP-era artefacts drawn from UCalgary's military collection. A close, behind-the-scenes look at the craft of exhibition-making with one of Canada's most respected Indigenous artists as the subject.
