Calgary kicks off Aboriginal Awareness Week with an official opening ceremony at The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland in honour of National Indigenous Peoples Day. Grand Entry begins at 11:45 a.m. followed by a moment of prayer, with live entertainment, Indigenous artisans, and community gathering throughout the afternoon. Free and open to all on the historic grounds where the Bow and Elbow rivers meet.
