Calgary Civic Symphony launches its 50th Anniversary Season with the return of world-renowned cellist Luka Coetzee — once a CCS "Rising Star" at age 12 — performing Elgar's Cello Concerto under conductor Rolf Bertsch. The program also features the world premiere of a new commission by Alberta composer John Estacio honouring The Civic's milestone, paired with Brahms' monumental Symphony No. 1 in the Jack Singer Concert Hall.
