Part of Lougheed House's A House of Story speaker series, this evening talk with Mount Royal University historian Kirk Niergarth digs into the class politics of early Calgary. He traces the era's major labour strikes and the mobilization of both labour and conservative forces, from the 1911 federal election through Alberta's first recall election in 1926 over public provision of school textbooks.
