Join Cantando for their opening concert of the 2026–2027 season, marking the ensemble’s first-ever solo performance. This program explores the echoes of great artists in contemporary choral works, bringing the deep wisdom of poets like Robert Frost, William Shakespeare, and Sara Teasdale to life through the voices of Calgary’s newest young adult ensemble. A central piece of the evening is “A Silence Haunts Me,” a choral reflection by composer Jake Runestad on Beethoven’s Heiligenstadt Testament. The work invites the audience to empathize with the composer’s struggle with deafness and his determination to continue his creative legacy. The concert is led by conductor Graeme Climie, with Oksana Yaremchuk on piano and Stan Climie on clarinet. Cantando is an auditioned ensemble for experienced young adult singers (ages 18–40) dedicated to musical excellence and community. This performance offers a meaningful opportunity to experience new choral artistry in a supportive and reflective setting. 📍 St Stephen's Anglican Church
