Music in the Plaza: HYMM Melodies

Heritage Park's free outdoor summer concert series wraps with HYMM Melodies, a Calgary collective weaving traditional melodies from around the world into modern compositions. Expect the warm tones of the Iranian santur, Kurdish-Turkish saz, and Arabic oud layered with violin, clarinet, saxophone, percussion, dance and vocals — drawing on the band's roots in Iran, Syria, Turkey, Eastern Europe, Chile and Quebec. Bring a lawn chair to Heritage Plaza, grab dinner at The Selkirk or a coffee from the Railway Cafe, and settle in for an easy evening of globe-spanning music.
