Siksiká Nation artist Adrian Stimson's public artwork Art as Language draws on Blackfoot pictographs, winter counts, ledger drawings, and petroglyphs, translating symbolic storytelling into three-dimensional steel and aluminum forms. In this presentation, Jasmine MacGregor explores how the installation connects Indigenous language, culture, and identity — work created in consultation with Blackfoot knowledge keepers that reflects the territories of Mohkínsstsisi. Held in the Central Library's Shaikh Family Welcome Gallery, it's an accessible way to experience an Indigenous way of communicating through visual, physical form. Free event — advance registration required via Eventbrite.
