The Writers' Guild of Alberta and Calgary Poetry Slam bring a late-night edition of the slam to Calgary Fringe, hosted by Matt Miller. Six performers are chosen by random draw and each reads two original poems (three minutes max) with no props, costumes, or music, scored live by randomly selected judges. Cash prizes go to the top two poets, with proceeds supporting the Writers' Guild of Alberta and the Calgary Poetry Slam. Sign-up opens at 9:30pm for anyone who wants to compete.
