Vet's Eye View

Head veterinarian Dr. Doug Whiteside and the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo's Animal Care, Health & Welfare team open up the world of zoo medicine for an evening at Safari Lodge. Expect photos, videos, X-rays, and behind-the-scenes stories about how the zoo cares for everything from tiny amphibians to giants like rhinos, followed by interactive booths where you can get hands-on with the tools of the trade. Recommended for ages 12 and up; zoo grounds open at 4 p.m. so you can wander before the talk.
