JazzYYC Summer Festival: Toronto-based upright bassist Robert Lee leads a seven-piece ensemble through original compositions rooted in Korean folk stories, poetry, and traditional elements woven into a contemporary jazz language. Drawing from his latest album Forbidden West, the project explores identity, lineage, and what it means to straddle two cultural worlds. Featuring vocalist Jacqueline Teh, saxophonist Dennis Kwok, John Lee on daegeum and janggu, guitarist Jay Yoo, pianist Jen Lo, and drummer Jon Catanus.
