Dive into a story that spans generations and empires. Owl's Nest Bookstore invites you to their general fiction club to discuss John Boyne's The House of Special Purpose. No registration is required, so just drop in and join the conversation. The novel follows Georgy Jachmenev, an eighty-year-old man living in England with his wife, as he prepares for a final journey back to Russia. Through his memories, the story transports readers to St. Petersburg in the early 20th century, exploring the Winter Palace, revolution, and personal tragedy. It is a layered narrative blending love, history, and loss. Perfect for readers who enjoy historical fiction with deep character arcs. Bring your thoughts and your copy of the book to share with the group.
