Drummer-turned-vibraphonist Jason Marsalis brings a tribute to Lionel Hampton to Festival Hall as part of JazzYYC Summer Festival 2026. Backed by Chris Tauchner (piano), Jeff Gammon (bass), and Nate Chiang (drums), the New Orleans bandleader reimagines Hampton's swinging vibraphone legacy — built with the approval of the Lionel Hampton Estate — as living, hard-swinging music rather than an archival exercise.
