Join Calgary Salutes for a reflective gathering to honour the service and sacrifice of Indigenous veterans. This program marks National Aboriginal Veterans Day, a day established to acknowledge the contributions of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples and to recognize the historical injustices they faced during and after their military service. The event features a lecture exploring the deep and ongoing involvement of Indigenous men and women in the Canadian Armed Forces, ranging from the distant past to the present. It is an opportunity to learn about the courage, resilience, and shared history that defines our collective identity. This is a dignified space for reflection and remembrance, hosted at a site of profound historical significance. A suggested minimum donation is recommended to support the site and its residential school memorial.
