September 30th is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Colloquially known as Orange Shirt Day, this day is intended to honour the survivors of residential schools and the children who never returned home, as well as to recognize the inter-generational impact and trauma that residential schools continue to have on individuals, families, and communities. As part of our ongoing mission of reconciliation and decolonization, The Confluence will be offering a variety of free programming all day. The site will also host the City of Calgary Orange Shirt Day Program from 9-10:30 am. We highly encourage visitors to come wearing orange clothing. Admission to all exhibits is free on Orange Shirt Day.
