Culturally Speaking: Calgary General Hospital – Its part in the ‘Calgary story’
Located in Glenmore Park

Join a presentation exploring the evolution of Calgary General Hospital and its lasting impact on the city. From the early 'cottage hospital' to the sandstone structure and later Bridgeland locations, this session traces how healthcare has shaped Calgary’s growth since the mid-1880s. Deb Lee, a retired nurse and long-time Bridgeland resident, shares her research into the historical records of the hospital that served the community from 1910 to 1998. Her talk highlights key aspects of the hospital’s development and its close relationship with the people of Calgary. The event is part of the Culturally Speaking Presentation Series and takes place at the Railway Orientation Centre. Entry is free, though RSVP is required to secure a spot.
