Artist Tour — David Garneau: Dark Chapters and Reading the Ruins

Métis artist and scholar David Garneau leads a one-hour walk-through of his paired Founders' Gallery exhibitions: Dark Chapters, a series of metaphorical still lifes on the lingering shadow of colonialism, and Reading the Ruins, which sets new paintings against NWMP-era artifacts from UCalgary's Special Collections to think through current conflicts in Ukraine and Palestine. A rare chance to hear the artist speak to the work in person before the show closes August 30.
