Lemonade Day Calgary is a city-wide event where youth ages 5-13 set up lemonade stands and experience the thrill of being a business owner while making a profit and giving back to their community. In the process, kids gain valuable skills in financial literacy, creativity, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork. How it works Learning the lessons: Mentors (usually parents or teachers) guide learners through the free Lemonade Day curriculum covering the foundational elements of goal-setting and creating a business plan. Opening for business: Aspiring young entrepreneurs put their plans into action to prepare and promote their stands, then set up their businesses across the city on Lemonade Day. Generating buzz: Lemonade Day Calgary organizers promote the event, encouraging all Calgarians to support lemonade stands across the city. Our tasting crew visits as many stands as possible to support and encourage participants. Celebrating success: After Lemonade Day, participants tally and distribute their profits across their Spend, Save, and Share goals. They can also submit their results to compete for prizes, including Entrepreneur of the Year, Best Branding, and the Community Impact Award. Learn more and register at lemonadedaycalgary.com.
