In Spite of Ourselves - A Celebration of the Music of John Prine with Wheels

Join Chinook Musical Society for a special tribute evening celebrating the songwriting of John Prine. This Saturday Night Special concert features In Spite of Ourselves, a group of lifelong Prine devotees, joined by local folk-rooted duo Wheels. In Spite of Ourselves brings together multi-instrumentalist Doug Cox, Juno Award-winning Tom and Kalissa Landa, and songwriter Steve Mitchell. They interpret Prine’s work with deep respect, taking you through the singular universe he built. Wheels, hailing from Diamond Valley, adds their own restless, storytelling-driven sound inspired by artists like Bruce Hornsby and Steve Earle. Expect an intimate evening of rich instrumentation and heartfelt lyricism. The show is suitable for audiences 18+. Please note that the venue is on the second floor and accessible only via stairs.
