CWL Annual Lecture - Avatars of the Impossible ft. Dr. Carlos Eire

Join the Catholic Women's League for their annual lecture, featuring Dr. Carlos Eire, a Yale University historian and award-winning author. Dr. Eire explores the collision between the Scientific Revolution and stories of the supernatural, including demonic possession, levitation, and miracles. Drawing on archival evidence and historical accounts, he examines how people made sense of the impossible during a period of profound change. The talk highlights figures like St. Teresa of Avila and St. Joseph of Cupertino, asking whether there is more to reality than what science can observe. This is part of the Inspiration Unplugged Lecture series. It’s a chance to dive into European religious and cultural history with a scholar whose work includes the National Book Award winner *Waiting for Snow in Havana*. No registration fee is required.
