The Mahogany Beach 2 Beach is a 1.2 km open water swim across Calgary's largest freshwater lake, connecting two of Mahogany's main beaches. Swimmers set off in age-group waves along a buoy-marked course watched over by lifeguards and safety kayaks. The approachable distance makes it a great first open-water race for newcomers while still giving seasoned swimmers a fast, competitive line to chase. Age-group awards go to the top man and woman, plus special King and Queen of Mahogany honours for the fastest local residents.
