Explore contemporary art through the lens of your community with a guided tour in Tagalog. This session focuses on the exhibition *Ghazaleh Avarzamani: Churn, Earn, Burn and then Return*, offering a welcoming space to connect with others and deepen your understanding of the work. The visit includes a 30-minute guided tour, followed by a post-tour conversation and an optional mini mixer. It is led by Sophie Garcia, a Filipino educator and curator originally from Manila who has lived in Calgary since 2019. Her practice centers on belonging, memory, and identity, drawing on her experience as a newcomer to foster inclusive dialogue within the local art scene. This program is part of Contemporary Connections, a series designed to make art accessible for Calgary’s diverse communities. The event is free with advance registration, though walk-ins are welcome if space permits. The series is supported by the Immigrant Council for Arts Innovation (ICAI).
