Fire up the long weekend at BBQ on the Bow, Calgary's own edition of Canada's oldest sanctioned barbecue competition. Pitmasters battle for the Alberta Championship in Kansas City–style low-and-slow cooking while a live-fire expo, local music, and family-friendly fun fill the grounds. The 2026 festival also serves as a BBQ World Cup qualifying event, raising the stakes for competitors chasing a spot on the world stage. It's run by the not-for-profit BBQ on the Bow Society, going strong since 1993.
