Housed in Calgary's historic 1913 No. 2 water-pumping station on the Bow River, Pumphouse Theatre has been a community arts hub since 1972 when Joyce Doolittle and Victor Mitchell rescued the derelict building and turned it into low-rent rehearsal and stage space for emerging artists. Today it operates two performance venues — the 285-seat Victor Mitchell Theatre and the 60-seat Joyce Doolittle black-box — alongside rehearsal halls and meeting rooms used by community and professional companies year-round. Pumphouse does not run its own box office; ticketing is handled by each producing company.
No hours provided, this venue may be open.
